Operation Christmas Child

Southwest Church is partnering with the Roper YMCA Family Center to be a drop off center for Operation Christmas Child. And we need your help! Deborah Thompson is our coordinator and we need your support in a few ways:

1. Pack a shoebox for a boy or girl
2. Volunteer one day of collection week (Nov 16-22) to pack the shoeboxes in boxes.
3. Come to our truck packing party on Sunday, November 22 right after church to back the boxes in the truck
4. We could also use worker-bee volunteers to help with picking up the big boxes and delivering them to the YMCA and assorted other odds and ends! Call Deborah at (407) 654-9162.

This is a great opportunity to bring the love of Jesus to kids around the world!

Okay. Now we schedule a cardiac cath for Jonathan to do an “ablation” (sound’s vaguely catholic) to correct a conduction problem called “Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome”. Details to be arranged on Monday - film at 11. Surgery to be rescheduled. Never a dull moment!

Stoneybrook Relay For Life:  Team Southwest walks again! Mark your calendars for May 8-9th and join in the fight against cancer. This will be our next big outreach event. We would like everyone to be a part of this great opportunity! Here are some pictures from last year’s relay.
